Forecast Of A Daydream

Perhaps the smooth cobblestone street,
So characteristic of Paris,
Is the reason for the content expression on their faces
While they stroll through the streets
With no ending point in mind.

Maybe the tasteful clothing,
Hovering underneath identical umbrellas,
Emits a feeling of harmony
As they appreciate the moment’s ease,
Despite the somber mood on this dreary day.

The satisfaction could be caused
By just a hint of sunlight behind the clouds;
As everything is as expected, all but paused,
Even with the never-ending drizzle,
On this overcast, dewy day.
