No Profit In Peace

No point in leaving an enemy unharmed
No point in making our own men go out unarmed
No point in waiting as the city walls turn to rust
No point in watching the wind blow the horizon dust
Now the army will not cease
Because there is no profit in peace

No point in keeping men out of the battle zone
No point in leaving the world alone
No point in keeping soldiers alive
No point in letting the enemy thrive
Now they are slaves for lease
Because there is no profit in peace

Because there’s no point in seeing a heart pierced by a gun
No point in watching a mother bury her son
No point in dropping bombs on foreign lands
No point in getting another man’s blood on our hands
Now we’re watching the world turn poor
Because there is no profit in war
