Jessye Strohmeyer

A Night Out

Have fun Jess – be home by one
I kept the thought in my head as the night begun
With all my friends and having a blast
The hours went on, it became one so fast
Hanging out, playing games and watching TV
But then everyone started to leave
When 2 rolled around, it was time to go
I prayed my parents wouldn’t be up, so…
I tiptoed in the house quiet as can be
Meanwhile I thought no one had heard me
I slipped into bed and woke up the next day
To find my parents in my room, much to my dismay
“Jessye you should feel awful you had us worried sick”
As I said sorry I didn’t mean it one bit
Thinking about the night that I had
Who really cares about mom and dad?
