Peter Saudek

Taken Away

He comes home within the confines of the day.
The black chair, looking out of the window
And into the forest, awaits him.
He picks up the acoustic guitar confined to its case.
His fingers, connected with his thoughts, reach deep
Into his memory and begin to play.
Everything around him is now nonexistent.
Like a galaxy far-off,
He cannot be reached.
For his music has taken him away.
