Homecoming

Come grass
Come back, winter’s past
Grow, high
Stretch, yawn, as you tickle the sky
Shine sun,
As the kids come out, in search of fun
Leave ice
Melt away, in your play come seasons thrice
And the living blooms
It smells like June
As the days keep on rolling
Birds, sing!
Unrust your wing
Return, love!
A chewed up Frisbee, a dusty glove
Thunder’s back
Lightning, in with a crack
Meteor showers
Cover the sleeping flowers
And the living blooms
It smells like June
As the days keep on rolling
Soon gone
Like the dusk to dawn
These days
Slowly start to decay
Settle in
As the winter begins
Dream about
How the sun’ll come out
When the living blooms
When it smells like June
Coming soon,
For the days will keep on rolling
