I'm Sorry Mom And Dad

I’m sorry I used to spill my milk,
And I’d always throw my vegetables on the floor.

When I was a little older I would leave my room a complete mess,
I apologize for all the times you had to clean it up.

I shouldn’t have eaten that cake before my sixth birthday party,
You knew it was me by the icing on my face and yet you didn’t get mad.

I’m sorry that in middle school I spent all day playing video games instead of reading,
I know you were just looking out for my best interests.

I really should treat you with more respect and give you less attitude,
High school is a tough time, but I really could do better.

I wish college didn’t cost so much money,
But in any case you tell me I can go anywhere.

It’s just that spirit you both have that picks me up when I’m down,
Your supportiveness, kindness, and patience surprise me all the time.

That’s why I’m sorry for all these things I’ve done, each and every one.
