Lincoln Field

As the bell rings, I hurry up to Lincoln, trying not to fall
I think about what I’m going to work on, how I can train
What should I practice; so much is running through my brain
I step onto the hard packed turf with my bag and my ball
I start setting up little goals with my shoes, but not too small
Someone throws their body into mine, no worry I like the pain
If I don’t play my hardest what’s there to gain
This place is great, how could I ever leave, all I need is a ball

I love the excitement of defending just one man
I know I can beat him, if I just stick with him all the way
I just concentrate on what I’ve learned, I will win, I know I can
I just have to formulate the perfect plan
Hours pass, but I know I can keep playing as long as it’s day
I want to get better and become the best, I hope I can stay
