James Greene

Barbados

The humid Caribbean wind was blowing on my face. The sun was blazing through the sky. I moved swiftly as I took my father’s breakfast of toast and ran to the beach with my cousin. We fed the bread to the same fish on the beach every morning. The silky soft sand was moving through my feet. As I bent over my eyes beheld the warm, clear water that within a new world lived its heavily aquatic depths. It was home to an array of beautiful fish that it seems god took most of his time to create. The wide range of soft red, blue, and yellow colors lit up my eyes. This life was the most beautiful thing my eyes had witnessed. It gives people hope that the world is not just full of hatred. It rose up my soul and gave an amazing perspective of what the world is truly about. It’s not about war but of peace.
