Freedom

Goofing off when supposed to be studying,
Forgetting instead of remembering,
Hurting myself instead of forgetting,
Acting like a parent when supposed to be a friend,
Letting myself fall short instead it exceeding,
Letting my mind wander instead of having it stay on track,
Letting my time go up instead of having it go down,
Letting my grades go down when supposed to be going up,
Having myself fall a mile short instead of exceeding the mile,
Putting myself down when supposed to be pushing myself up,
Letting my standards fall instead of them going up,
Having my friends tell me what to do instead of doing what I want to do,
Having my grades fall then go up instead of just rising,
Freedom.
Walking a mile, when supposed to be running,
Talking up a storm, when supposed to be listening,
Dreaming when supposed to be reading,
Calling when supposed to be working,
Praying when supposed to be testing,
Hurting instead of being hurt,
Laughing instead of crying,
Crying instead of being happy,
Sprinting when supposed to be relaxing,
Giving nothing when supposed to be giving my all,
Having my voice heard instead of letting it fall,
Speaking when supposed to be quiet,
Being quiet instead of letting my voice be heard,
Freedom.
Being me instead of being someone else,
Freedom.
