Tides Of War

The strength to dream and to believe
The eyes to see and to perceive
The mind to know and to deceive
The light of truth will pierce all comrades

A single spark within the night
Extinguished by the darkest might
The sun and shadow join to fight
That tiny spark recalled to light

And then will come the gods of war
The search will start for ancient lore
When armies charge to mortal fate
And heroes rise in times too late

The times will come to be most dire
The strength will be in dark and fire
There’ll be a beacon on the shore
Bring tidings from the haunted morgue

A sudden flash across the sky
The truth becomes the darkest lie
The dawn will close upon the night
And we shall rise bathed all in light
