Everyone Knows

Time, the desired weapon of man
Able to carve our history and bring a new and unknown future

Events could be redirected or just plain invented
The window into the future and past could collapse like the twin towers
Parts could then float away, blown by the ever changing winds
But, what's left stays, waiting to be analyzed and synthesized
Scientists attempt to understand the new possibilities
        But, why bother?
When everyone knows
Time flows like a raindrop skittering down a pain of glass
Although no experiments have been run
        Everyone still knows
Even though its properties and abilities are unknown
        Everyone just knows
That time flows hidden, blessed with unknown power
        Everyone knows
That power only need leads to greed
And what could be the end of what is now man
So, even though the scientists try
        They hope, they find nothing
Except the unknown
