I'll Never Forget

I remember walking down the cool driveway
onto the blistering black pavement.
Hopping back and forth from the street to the feet-refreshing grass

The road seemed to be adding parts when we got close.
But it was ok. My favorite pool down the street from my grandparents' house in florida was at the end.

I remember finally getting there.
I remember the clear blue, bottomless pit of water, waiting for me.
I remember the hot tub in the corner with the "must be 18" sign.
Near that, the shower head i used to drench my sisters face, untill getting yelled at.

Then, the moment I've been waiting for.
Jumpnig into the pool of my dreams.
Relaxed and worry-free.
The chlorine beverage in my mouth.

A pool I could swim in forever.
A place I never wanted to leave.
