Serena Seferian

An Unacknowledged Angel

Soaring over glittering fields,
the trees mocking her very descent.
She pauses to think and then continues,
her essential task of this very event.

The necessary warmth, the kindling heat,
stolen from the impolite dusk.
Her face aglow, the color of snow,
her dazzling horn like and elephants tusk.

She hovers over a lucky house,
drifts by the windows and hears the deep slumber,
silently sighing in disbelief
when her eye caught that unfortunate number.

The hands soaring to the midnight twelve,
realizing she is obliged to this duty.
She gracefully enters the surprised room,
and hurries to this unacknowledged beauty.

Her delicate hand glides under the pillow,
firmly grasping the escaping tooth.
Now there is an untouched dollar,
under this head of innocent youth.
