Daishawn Beaumont

Kayi

When the sun rose
like a new born baby
from its mother’s womb
its cool rosy pale cheeks brightened the dark room

But clouds of insecurity cover up the sun’s rays
like a baby in a deep sleep

I felt as if I was losing a part of me
my heart was being torn apart
as if a lion were clawing his prey to death
