A Scar To Remember

I remember my tiny feet bouncing off the pavement
Tripping, my knee meeting the ground

Skin torn apart
Blood sprinting out
Eyes drowned in tears
Streaming down my soft cheeks

I remember the sting and fizz from the liquid
I remember the stickiness of the grape band-aid
I remember the motherly kiss on my forehead
